Porsche Design Blackberry is One Stylish Accessory

Porsche enthusiasts and technophiles in the St. Petersburg area will find a new smartphone from BlackBerry extremely appealing. That's because the handset was designed in collaboration with Porsche Design and has some bells and whistles that only 25 lucky people are going to be able to call their own.

The Porsche Design P'9981 smartphone from BlackBerry gold edition sure makes a statement to the world. This gold-plated, leather-bound custom BlackBerry Bold 9900 is milled from stainless steel before being veneered in gold. The design is angular and minimalist, not counting the solid gold presence which serves to show the phone is in a class all its own.

Each new, limited-edition Porsche Blackberry also comes with a solid gold plaque on its backside, engraved with its serial number and 2AA prefix code. This code acts as part of the handset's PIN and tells other Blackberry users that they are communicating with a P'9981 owner.

Internal components remain standard, with a 1.2GHz process and 8GB of internal RAM running the BB7 phone operating system.

The super-exclusive Porsche-inspired Blackberry phone is set to go on sale for £1,250 (about US$1,890) via the Porsche website (https://onlineshop.porsche-design.com/en) and at select Porsche Design boutiques around the world starting in June.
