Porsche at the Top of J.D. Power APEAL Study for 9th Year in a Row

Each year, the renowned American-based global marketing information services firm, J.D. Power and Associates, holds its annual APEAL study which reflects consumer's attitudes about various facets of vehicle ownership. These opinions are based on data collected from dealership service surveys, customer purchasing experience surveys and more.

Well, for the 2013 APEAL study, we at Bert Smith Porsche are quite pleased to announce that luxury German automaker, Porsche, of whom we're incredibly fond, has ranked highest among all nameplates for the study, industry-wide, for the ninth year in a row.

Additionally, it's not just the Porsche brand that was recognized, but specific new Porsche models which also garnered accolades. Especially notable were the Porsche Cayenne and Boxter which both earned top spots for their segments: Midsize Premium SUV and Compact Premium Sporty Car, respectively.

Earning these honors is quite the feat, considering that some 8,000 customers are surveyed in order to make the decision. In order to be a part of the J.D. Power and Associates APEAL study, a driver would have had to acquire a new model either via purchase or Porsche lease between November 2012 and February 2013.

Overall, Porsche was given 884 points on a 1,000-point scale. This bests both the premium industry average of 844 points, and especially the overall industry average which is set at 795 points.
